Empty Bowls

The Empty Bowls Project aims to fight hunger one bowl at a time.

Saturday 28 August at Dust Temple – see event info here

How it works: Potters, crafters, educators, students and volunteers gather round to work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Five unique restaurants will prop up their stalls around the courtyard, where you can choose what tantalizes your appetite and fill your unique ceramic bowl. In the past, local restaurants have donated noodle soup dishes, green fish curries, lentil and grain salads, Currumbin Valley ham hock broths, and more. At the end, each ticket holder will take home a donated bowl out of which they’ve enjoyed a sensational meal.

The “Empty Bowls Project” is an international grassroots effort to raise both money and awareness in the fight to end hunger. The mission is to create positive and lasting change through the arts, education, and projects that build community.

This year we have chosen Agape Outreach Inc as the charity that we will be fundraising for. A local charity, Agape Outreach does an amazing job serving the Homeless and Hungry in the community. We invite you to help us in this fight against hunger.
