Lachlan McKenzie Quintet (SYD)

Originally from Brisbane, Lachlan McKenzie relocated to Sydney at the beginning of 2021. Since this move, Lachlan has had the opportunity to study with exceptional musicians/educators including Phil Slater, Will Vinson, Matt McMahon, and perform with leading musicians/groups such as John Harkins, Hammerhead, Andrew Dickeson, ANJO Youth Big Band, and Michael Griffin.

Along with Lachlan on trumpet, the quintet features the talents of tenor-saxophonist Lachy Hamilton, pianist Wilbur Whitta, bassist Jacob Graham, and drummer George Greenhill. The group will perform a mixture of Lachlan’s original music and various other repertoire from the pen of artists such as Cedar Walton, Duke Pearson, and Gigi Gryce.
