Luja Murfi live at Dust with special guests Dear Doonan and Harrison R King

Luja Murfi are a 5 piece band organically formed around 2019 in the southern end of the Gold Coast. 

A whimsical group of friends, fronted by Kiwi brothers Luke and Miles Morel sharing Vocals, Rhythm and Lead Guitars. Backed by the Rhythm section of Jax Fostagic on Bass and Luke ‘Fish’ Johnson on Drums/Percussion.

Releasing their debut,self titled EP in 2020 recorded and live tracked at a home in the beautiful verdant Currumbin Valley.

This mystic quintet draws out inspiration and feeling from a myriad of genres, combining elements from Alternative and Psych-Rock to Funk and Jazz.

Producing a live performance full of original, thought out grooves and melodies, made with heart and soul, with intention to evoke, radiate and alleviate.

After a brief introspection the band return in 2022 releasing their enchanting first single titled ‘Essence’ as well as introducing a fifth element into the mix, playing on keys and adding sonic enhancement, good friend Nathan Roberts. 

As the next saga begins, Luja Murfi explore deeper into the evolution and sculpting of their sound and bringing forth a refreshing and captivating energy in a live atmosphere.

Joining them on this most whimsical evening are special guests Harrison R King and the druids of Dear Doonan.

Harrison R. King is an Antipodean composer and multi-instrumentalist. Inspired by awe-some natural landscapes, human introspection and a plethora of cross genre and inter-continental influences, Harrison weaves a sound tapestry that keeps music lovers wide-eared and stirred.

Dear Doonan are a psychedelic rock band based in the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Taking inspiration from 60s and 70s psychedelic music, Afro-jazz, Indian Classical, Turkish and Eastern Psych, fusing it with driving hypnotic grooves.

It is set to be a pleasant and intimate night of original music.
