Saturday Morning Sound – Jim Griffin

The distinctive qualities as a dual wielding (guitar/bass) singer/songwriter has attested Jim Griffin’s avidity to produce quality music, with involvement in various projects, namely the pop-rock assembly ‘The Belligerents’, and cosmic-country group ‘ Family Jordan’. A long and fruitful collaboration with fellow QLD resident and DIY-musician and friend JB Paterson eventually led to the creation of Jim’s debut solo offering – ‘Country Style’. With hints of Prine and Van Zandt, the intimate tracks rendered an LP that solidified his skills as a soulful singer-songwriter. As the 2 year mark since ‘Country Style’ gently approaches, Jim returns with another round of heart- stirring tunes. His simplistic style and new set of songs only confirms the timeless beauty of country folk music.
