The Dawn Light – Because of Love Album Launch

THE DAWN LIGHT are releasing their debut album ‘Because of Love’ on 7th June 2022 and will be celebrating this release, touring with close friends Peter Hunt Band (Kooii) as well as some special guests, performing 4 intimate shows in SE QLD & Northern NSW throughout June. 

The Album ‘Because of Love’ is a 12 song album capturing the exquisite singing and songwriting of Angela Newcomb (whose voice has been featured on Ziggy Alberts latest album) along with partner and bassist Oj Newcomb (John Butler Trio). After many years of deeply connecting with the profound verses of great mystic poets – Hafiz (renderings by Daniel Ladinsky) and Francis Brabazon – Angela began to embrace their poems as lyrics, writing songs that could be described as a dear companion to the human spirit, shedding beams of light, joy and inspiration on the path of life. 

This album and band also features highly acclaimed musicians Charles Wall on Drums (aka Bobby Alu, Xavier Rudd), Brodie Graham on Guitar (Band of Frequencies), Gareth Mews on Violin (Cigány Weaver), Rohan Seekers on Keys (Life on Earth) and Nick Garbett on Trumpet (The Vampires, The Strides) as well as beautiful string arrangements by Steve Newcomb and Sarah King. 

This combination of musicians, words and music will surely inspire your heart and soul to dance.

THE DAWN LIGHT   The Dawn Light is an exciting new project by Angela & OJ Newcomb featuring some highly acclaimed musicians such Charles Wall (aka Bobby Alu) Brodie Graham and Gareth Mews. PETER HUNT BAND Within the miniatures of the universe that are music, Peter Hunt explores the wisdom, peace and belonging that music can offer us.  With his voice, guitar and trumpet, woven with the artistry of his trio, worlds of songs are created, inspired by cultures of music including jazz, and African threaded with a sense of Celtic.

Being the core songwriter for the group Kooii and an active collaborator he recently released his first ‘solo’ album entitled ‘Vessel’.
