The View From Madeleine’s Couch
REJOICE IN THE BEAUTIFUL SOUNDS OF BRAZILIAN JAZZ WITH A BLEND OF AWARD-WINNING ORIGINAL ORIGINAL MUSIC AND TUNES FROM THE GOLDEN ERA OF BOSSA-NOVA.
Now in their 22nd year of bringing gorgeous Brazilian music to Australian audiences, Madcouch is celebrating in 2020 with the summer release of their brand new, critically acclaimed album, Bossa Nova Sunset Club. Recorded with legendary Brazilian drummer Marcio Bahia, (who joined the band for their Dust Temple show in 2019), the album is a glorious tribute to the music that’s been at the heart of the group for so many years.
Their mix of beautiful original songs inspired by the rhythms and harmonies of Brazil, blend perfectly with the eclectic repertoire of bossa nova, samba and Brazilian jazz the band has performed at major festivals and venues across Australia and Brazil for over two decades.
With consummate ease, remarkable musicianship, and an innate feel for the nuance and energy of this music, Madcouch will have you Rio dreaming from their first notes. They are truly one of the finest Brazilian ensembles in Australia.
“You can feel the love from the first note. It is certainly a landmark album contributing to the history of Brazilian-influenced Australian music. Congratulations, best 2019 release!” – Helen Simons.
